Everyone keep trying to reinvent the wheel. There is plenty of technology that already does this. Enigmail works fine, if a little unintuitive. I think people should work on securing client-side javascript encryption.

I thought enigmail relied on PGP which is, you know...not so private.

PGP/GPG use RSA if you choose it (and by default), but you can use DSA too. If you are concerned about RSA's security then use DSA when generating your private key.
