Fuck you. Now I've got tears in my eyes at work.
I had this weird moment ... it's so beautiful and I got to the end before I noticed the father was Ron Suskind, whose books I enjoy immensely. I was sitting there just blow to pieces that he writes brilliant political commentary and is a well-known journalist and then he comes home and memorizes Disney movies to communicate with his son... So much respect.
No one knows we’re all living double lives. At night, we become animated characters. So much respect. I'm still a bit lost after reading this twice now.So begin the basement sessions. During daylight, we go about our lives. Walt rides his bike to school each morning, back home each afternoon. Cornelia manages the house, the bills, the overloaded schedules of the kids. I am editing and writing for The Journal, putting on my suit and subwaying to the bureau.
It was a really great read, I'm glad I took the time to check it out. Makes me want to go home and hug my kids. "regressive" Autism is a terrifying thing as a parent of a child that is still in that age range. You never know. What amazing parents they are though.
Always - I know that if you shout me out it's going to above the standard level of article. I'm glad I didn't miss this - even if I did miss it the first time around.
