The general consensus is that EA and Ubisoft are crappy game companies. In EA's case, when they bought Bioware, Bioware's games dropped in quality - Dragon Age 2 was panned, and Mass Effect 3's ending is one of the most drama-filled moments in gaming history. Ubisoft just has a penchant for releasing the same kind of game over and over again with slight changes. There's like, what, 15 Assassin's Creed games now? They also make games with the intent of making them franchises. Which, you know, that's fine, it's a business. But people don't like that. Hopefully Microsoft makes Minecraft mods work better.
Sometimes I think I'm the only person who liked Mass Effect 3's ending. And I mean the original one (I liked the extended cut too, but I was satisfied with the first one). Then again, I'm not a very savvy consumer of fiction. Tell it with enough flash and I'll love it, plot-holes and hand-waving be damned.
Yeah, and just look at this

If you had told me this would happen two weeks ago, I would have laughed at you. I just can't imagine Mojang being sold. It's not that I'm on some moral high-horse about it, it just doesn't fit with my image of what the company is or who Notch is (and as a stranger on the internet who doesn't know these people, and hasn't played or followed Minecraft in forever, my opinion about who they are is worth exactly nothing. It just feels weird to have your unfounded expectations completely blown away).
