He was a 14-year-old blind kid, angry and alone. Then he discovered that he possessed a strange and fearsome superpower - one that put him in the cross hairs of the FBI
It began, as it always did, with a phone call to 911. "Now listen here," the caller demanded, his voice frantic. "I've got two people here held hostage, all right? Now, you know what happens to people that are held hostage? It's not like on the movies or nothing, you understand that?"
A recent radiolab show talks about a boy trying to escape his present through the phone system, and learns how to make unique tones with his voice to hack the system and make free calls anywhere in the world. He is certainly a part of the phreak phenomena, interesting listen, http://www.radiolab.org/2012/feb/20/

I listened to only the first story of that episode yesterday (about the man who escaped from jail many times), and while reading this article kept thinking how perfect of a story it would be for "Escape". Now I'm even more excited to listen to the rest, and another story about another phreak. Very interesting phenomenon that I was completely unaware of.
