I'm agnostic as well, but can't reconcile agnosticism with atheism. Atheism is a certainty of the absence of god(s); Agnosticism implies it's futile to declare certainty one way or the other, as we lack the insight to definitively know. That's how I understand it, at least.
Agnostic is the opposite of gnostic, and deals with knowledge rather than faith. Gnostic atheist would be certain that no gods exist. Agnostic atheist is I don't think there is enough knowledge to say for sure, but I don't believe in a god. Agnostic by itself is also used, I don't like this as it's definition is trying to force atheist to mean something that most atheists don't agree with by calling it a belief in the lack of god rather than just the lack of belief in a god.
