It might be better if the various religions were spelled correctly. I'm an atheist. I am not an athiest, but that's just me.

I made this on a phone lol

lil  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

Of course you did. I imagine it's not long before that excuse is acceptable all over the world, even here, on Hubski, the last beam of light from a distance galaxy. lol

There's a 1/5 ratio of spelling it incorrectly/correctly. Glad to know we can spell a seven letter word correctly 80% of the time?

lil  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

True - in some places, 80% is still an A.

I want to go where 80% is still an A.

And I'd like them to grade all of my assignments for the next two years, please.

lil  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

Is it 85% in your school?

I guess I was thinking that A- is still an A.

kingmudsy  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

Everywhere I've been 90% is the cutoff for an A, but I don't know how it is where you guys are.

aerowid  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

In most of the us A is 100 to 93, A- is 92 to 90, B+ is 89 to 87, B is 86 to 83, B- is 83 to 80, C+ is 79 to 77, C is 76 to 73, C- is 72 to 70, D+ is 69 to 67, D is 66 to 63, D- is 62 to 60, F is below 60. Most of the variation I've seen is with Ds and Fs.

kingmudsy  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

Wait, really? That's so difficult to remember.

For me it was

A: 100-90 B: 89-80 C: 79-70 D: 69-60 F: 60 or below

lil  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

In my school

  80-85 is A-
  85-90 is A
  90-100 is A+

  77-80 - B+
  73-77 - B
  70-72 - B-
as you know adding the symbol for plus in hubski makes it bold between the two pluses except for aerowid who made the pluses work somehow... Thanks aerowid

Backslashes

lil  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

+ like this?

Wait a sec. Isn't / a backslash and \ a forwardslash?

kingmudsy  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

That sounds awesome, but I bet it's a big deal to strict parents to still be in the 90-100 range.

thanks for the formatting tips, by the way

aerowid  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

One of my professors claimed that this (or at least something like this) is how must of the world doors grade. The "metric grade", if you will.

aerowid  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

I guess "most of the us" is broader than I can really speak to, but in California that was true at every school I attended.

kingmudsy  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

Did you go to other school districts? I can't speak past my state, but I think most school districts (at least all the ones I've been to) did it this way. It could just be a states thing?

simbha  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

I go to school - and 80 is a B-

lil  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

So you pretty much have to get an 95% or you are scorned. Where is that?

Luckily my course is pass/fail, most of my students are east or south Asians and we don't have to debate what "A" means.

kingmudsy  ·  3598 days ago  ·  link  ·

Are you a teacher? Why are your students all east or south Asian?
