No doubt. IMHO there's often a big difference between the belief system one proclaims, and the one that one practices. For religious and non-religious proclaimers alike. The question may be better addressed to those that know us well, because they likely can answer more truthfully.
Do you mean relatives, friends, and lovers? Not sure about that mk. Per one view, the entire spectrum of the content of the psyche not under the control of the ego -- which includes 'external events' -- is a 'reflection' of self. Anyway, I've been getting very good feedback from the kitties in my backyard lately :) They'll do something stupid and then thinking about it I realize that is precisely the way I act .. The question may be better addressed to those that know us well, because they likely can answer more truthfully.
Yes, that's what I mean. Not to discount the reality of self-reflection, but as we largely confine the rest of the universe to the limits of 'external observation', we ought to consider it only fair that our own nature might be best revealed that way as well. :) Not to say that you suffer from this blind spot. But I do suspect that you are a rare exception.
What I meant was that the dynamics of psychological entanglements are bidirectional. A Self Realized soul, e.g. Lord Buddha, would not be subject to this (asserted, hypothetical) phenomena, so critical feedback from that quarter would be clear, correct, and timely.
