Hey everybody. Sorry for being late a few days for posting this. If you've made a character already, please post them as a response in here. If you haven't made a character yet and you don't know how, I explained a bit about it in the last post I made.
I can't really remember what else I was going to put in this post, but there will be another post for the start of gameplay. Call this the character post, I guess. First half of the beginning update below.

After the Congress of Vienna, the French regime in the Southern Netherlands was removed. Prince William of Orange-Nassau assumed control of these regions, and proclaimed himself William I, the Sovereign Prince of the United Netherlands. William was a Calvinist, and his religion was forced upon the Catholic south. The French language was banned from schools in Flanders and Wallonia alike, regardless of the language of the people.
The bad feelings in the South grew after news of a revolution in France, and on August 25th in 1830, a performance of the nationalistic opera "La Muette de Portici" caused the audience to riot in the streets of Brussels. Soldiers sent to quell the riots were conscripted from the South, and joined the rioters instead.

Dutch troops attacked the city, but were rebuffed after a week of battle. The army retreated to Antwerp, and both the rebels and the newly crowned King William called their allies to assist them. The French responded to the calls of their neighbors and brothers, and entered southern Wallonia on October 1st. Prussia and Russia, William's allies, sent troops at much the same time.
Russia's army never arrived. An uprising in Poland waylaid the Russian army in Warsaw, and caused the Prussians to divert most of their troops to Silesia in January 1831. The remaining troops in the Netherlands were easily crushed by the French army. The war rebalanced itself in October, when the Polish revolt was put down. Russian and Prussian troops came again to the Netherlands, and fighting continued for many more months.
Late in 1832, the British negotiated a truce between France and the Dutch allies. Delegates from the major European powers were brought to London. After half a year of negotiations, Russia and Prussia agreed to stand down. France, Britain, Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Spain all signed the new Treaty of London, creating the nation of Belgium out of the regions of Flanders, Wallonia, and the Duchy of Luxembourg. This new treaty also guaranteed this new nation's independence. King William was, in a word, furious. His only choice was to accept.
PLAYER ACTION: Post characters and wait for further updates.
EDIT: a few people have shared this without posting characters. Don't feel the need to be shy. The game-starting update will be posted tomorrow when I wake up. Get hype.
Nicolas Monami 1800 Walloon Nicolas thinks protectionsism, a planned eceonomy, secularism, full citizenship and anti-war policies are great. Nicolas believes that all workers should unite and that nations and wars are only good for the upper class.
Also wanted to be a lady but realized the impossibility of that.
Jean-Maurice Dehousse, 1791, Walloon. (Apparently this guy was a member of the socialist party in Belgium, I honestly just googled Walloon names) For stances, I'm gonna go Protectionism, Planned Economy, Secularism, Limited Citizenship, and Pro-War, all pulled from this list: http://pastebin.com/pxd38cbJ I have to do some more research to get a good backstory, but this is good enough for now, right?
