Theologian - Pain of the Saints
Also Laibach posted a video for No History off last year's Spectre, and it is wonderful. Meriadoc
Bonobo - Return To Air From : Flashlight EP - straight out of a come down party. Jon Hopkins - Symmetry From : Contact Note - Shit - Jon Hopkins again! I love the way his music evolves during a single track. Dusty Springfield - Goin' Back "live my days instead of counting my years" - Damn right Dusty!
Progressive rock, mostly Yes. I think what's special about progressive rock when you're getting into it is that you can't expect that it will sound all good at the beginning. There's so many nuances to the harmonies, rhythms and melodies that it will take a couple of listens to figure them all out. However, it's a give and take relationship. If you listen to it with an open mind you will find it's like a musical adventure.
Lauryn Hill, soul singer/rapper. She's mostly known as a member of the Fugees, and for Miseducation, her only solo album. It's mostly centered around love (like a lot of soul/rnb), with occasional interludes consisting of a class of older-ish students talking about the nature of love. Like I said, definitely worth a listen.
https://eskimeaux.bandcamp.com/track/quickly-forgotten yo this track especially from eskimeaux's demo mix has been getting me. v radical. warm, and light, and it feels like a heavy blanket. emotional tunes, ya know?
I've been listening to Jim O'rourkes "Bad Timing" a lot this week. I bought it at my favorite record store here "CD ALLEY." CD Alley features many Hubski stickers throughout their store. They rule. The owner of CD Alley is in a band called The Kingsbury Manx and I've been listening to them too. Good stuff! He's the opposite of most record store owners, really kind and nonjudgmental. I love his store and his music is fantastic too:
Two Door Cinema Club- Next Year All their songs sound the same, like how my Bad Religion Best Of is also a discography. I keep getting them stuck in my head and listening is earworm trepanation.
