Sad story indeed.

For me, nothing material comes to mind. As far as things I've regretfully given up, I once had a girlfriend whom I was mad about. She broke my heart, but came crawling back a few months later. I let my pride instead of my conscience do the talking and told her to go fuck herself, and I've hated myself for it ever since.

Definitely not a tragic as losing your favorite guitar and rig, but still, it was a lesson learned about holding onto that which you care about.

You might have done the right thing. I made the other call, and she just broke my heart again a few months later. If she gave up after you told her off, it might have been for the best.

If you're single and she's single... why not mingle? If nothing else, maybe get some closure. Sounds like you're carrying some weight.

I suppose all you can do in life is make the best choice you can with the information available to you at the time. -Aint that the truth brother. Good luck with it all, I have to say I'm envious of your indecision. There's something about not knowing where your heart will be in a week, month or year that is extremely exciting.
