Ok, so that's an unfair title to get you to click on this post. Kind of.
Tonight, a movie is debuting in the Los Angeles area at the Newport Beach Film Festival. The movie, Welcome to Happiness, is a cool little story with a great cast (Keegan Michael Key, Nick Offerman, Kyle Gallner, Olivia Thirlby, and on and on), an awesome original soundtrack, and the best part is that it represents Hubski's first foray into advertising. mk and I were able to secure some screen time for a conspicuously placed Hubski t-shirt worn by Gallner (the dude from American Sniper who isn't Bradley Cooper).
We're fairly excited about it to say the least, as this has been a long time coming, and a really fun process to be a part of. If you live in LA (looking at you insomniasexx), please go see this movie on our behalf. I'll be jealous, but I want someone to be there whom I can live vicariously through. Otherwise, look for it on your favorite (legal) streaming service in the coming months.
That was the fastest I've ever seen a Hubwheel completed. I guess the answer to b_b is "yes".
Ha! Cool. And the hubski saga of unusual marketing tactics continues.
You are forgetting when thenewgreen sang a song to an author to try to get Hubski attention. I think he got called "adorably creepy" for that one. I can't find the link for the life of me right now though. Edit: Haha – he found the link!
That's nothing. I was watching Sikicon Valley on HBO last night and Kara Swisher was on it. I leaned over to my wife and said, that's the ---- that wrote that I was creepy. -So lame. I learned some lessons early on.
Wow, how'd you guys pull that off? If it makes it way to some theaters out east I'll definitely be watching it, of not, then streaming it is!
Friends. Friends of friends. Basically the way the world operates. The odds don't look great that it will have a national release, even a small one, but it may be circulated to some film festivals in the east. There are one or two more lined up currently, but they aren't official yet, so I can't really spill the beans. I'll update as things become available.
