In general, the effects of place are sharper for boys than for girls, and for lower-income children than for rich.
It's no secret that a two parent household seems to produce the best outcomes for the children. I can't imagine raising my kids on my own, it's a big job and if you can have 2 people, 3 people, 4, 5,... a village, then all the better.
