Some powerful images.
I'm a little disappointed Dada was omitted as it was a reaction by some intellectuals in Switzerland to the absurdity and destruction of modern warfare. It's often seen as obtuse and stupid, for lack of a better word, but it had a goal even if that goal was ostensibly nonsense.

Side note: They did include some Futurists who were very gung ho about modernity, including its form of war. Most of them died in the war.
This was beautiful, taco. I don't want to say WWI is the forgotten war because it certainly isn't in places like France, but I do think it is constantly overshadowed by WWII in particular. You might appreciate this Dada related post.
I've been watching The Great War channel on YouTube. It's a week-by-week account of WWI as it happened 100 years ago. It gets mentioned on reddit at any appropriate opportunity but it doesn't have that many subscribers so maybe not so many people here know about it: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheGreatWar It's pretty good, I just hope they don't run out of material. They jump ahead in quite a few episodes aside from the weekly rundown of events. Also, I'm in that Dada thread being not funny.
What!? That sounds fantastic, definitely going to start watching it. I was not aware that that was a thing. Aw, well it was worth a shot.
The host did an AMA. I asked him an obscure question about baseball which is another of his historical interests. http://www.reddit.com/r/Documentaries/comments/30a0g4/hello_i_am_indy_neidell_host_and_author_of_a/ Something for after a few videos
Oh, you mean this related post? Sorry, just excited about cards
The horror and the violence that these young men faced is something that I could never imagine or even face.
It's amazing how quickly things have moved along from a tech standpoint. Just about 100 years ago wars were fought in/from trenches. Now we have drones and automatic guns. The way things sped up is absurd.
Cheers for sharing this too! Yeah, some of the Italians were super aggro in that time period. Unfortunately England, France, and America did nothing to help them. They treated the Orlando delegation horribly during the peace conference in 1919. Their poor decisions only fueled the fire of Italian nationalism and proto-fascists.
If I had any badges to give, I would give it to this post. I enjoyed the tour through different styles via WW1 themed images.
