What is your last.fm account? If you'd care to tell me.
Eh, I'd rather not give it out here for the time being, since it has my real name. I just use it to keep track of music for myself and for sharing the collages. Sorry! :/
New shit from David Bazan. Some of his best in a few years. Check out Bazan Monthly Volume 1 and Volume 2.
Love me some Kishi Bashi. And love me some NPR Music Tiny Desk Concerts.
Saw that a while ago and swore to come back to it. Maybe now is the time. :)
I want a love that falls as fast as a body from the balcony, and I want a kiss like my heart is hitting the ground I'm holding my breath with a baseball bat though I don't know what I'm waiting for, I am not gonna be what my daddy wants me to be
Nice. mitski has been a favorite of mine for about a year now.
Is it just me who thinks they are constantly getting better? I found out that keeping up with their music is a great way to follow on what’s going on in Holopainen’s head and the works he’s been reading. That guy is fascinating.
I must confess I have been looking to the past this week. Songs in the Key of Life is truly, epically amazing. Listened all the way through twice in four days. Also spent some time with Spin Doctors and Blind Melon on Spotify this week. I am perfectly fine with being stuck in the 1976-1996 era for this month.
I stumbled upon Jesse Stewart about six months back and I still watch his youtube videos at least once a week or so. I love folk music, I love punk music, and I love people that sing with a shit ton of heart and guts. This guy, to me at least, really has it all. I can't wait for him to come out with an actual album. Just this past month I discovered METZ and bought both of their albums the next day. They reminded me how much I love hard music sometime and even though some people might disagree, I find them very listenable. I feel like at this point, everybody knows who Shakey Graves is, but I just started listening to him again. Why I haven't bought any of his albums yet is a complete mystery to me. I'll have to fix that come my next paycheck.
There was a new Death Grips related project that was completely unannounced and it is fantastic. r/DeathGrips lost their mind over this release. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin released a new album this week, and it's got a lot more power-pop influence than their older material. This is a nice return to their older albums like Pershing and Let It Sway, and is much better than Fly by Wire. Check out the track Line on You.
