Someone I know is obsessed with Homestuck so I gave it a go a while back. I found it a little confusing with all the sections, I never got to the meteor shower and the nonsensical-ness turned me off, not saying it has to be realistic, just being nonsensical without much good humour isn't my thing. I'll give it another go though since it sounds cool after the point I got to.

I love homestuck but to be honest, if you don't at least like the style of humor from the first act, there's not as much of a point in sticking with it. Personally, I'm a fan of weird self referencing humor so I loved it, and it's true that it has much more in the ways of plot later, but its core remains the same.
