Could there be a more gorgeous and haunting song?
John Wayne Gacy Jr -For those of you unfamiliar with the subject.
I heard this song for the first time when I was in a car on the way to a hike with a group of people I didn't know at all. I wrote down a few lyrics to look it up later. I also heard Handlebars during that ride, and both bring back happy (though confli ted because of the subject matter ) memories. That group of people ended up being my friend group during college so far.
Holy crap. I had no idea. You can imagine my surprise upon hearing this song and reading the wiki when I was just looking for an old jazz musician that I can't quite place my finger on. Is this song a very popular one? I have yet to truly explore the realm of old jazz musicians. Perhaps I have been hearing the song's title everywhere. It seems Gacy Jr narrowly avoided capture by agreeing to leave if Antonucci uncuffed him. Those same cuffs were used a week later to trap one of Gacy Jr's coworkers in a chair while he strangled him.... I'm a psychology student and lately, understanding the brains of killers is enthralling.
Illinois is a pretty popular and really great album.
I'm not sure I understand the "Jazz" connection in your comment.
