Whenever I get angry, sad, or ground down by life on Earth, I seem to run across NASA'S tracking sites and it puts it all in perspective. Why should we spend millions of dollars on things like this when there are more pressing problems on Earth to fund? Because this is why we even bother trying to solve those pressing problems.

While we're at it, here's the Rosetta comet, which will be at perihelion next month. And here's MMS. All 4 MMS's have a roughly 24 hr. orbital period. If you want things in near earth orbit, you can try to track them with J-track. I say "try", because I can't get it to work, it's been a java debacle. The promised update in 2012 was most likely never delivered.
