I grew up in Michigan and spent my summers on Lake Charlevoix. My grandparents have a home and a cabin on the South Arm of the lake, near East Jordan. It's an awesome place with many memories. I agree that it's restorative, beautiful and full of places to explore.

I enjoyed your write up. To those living in the areas you are mentioning going "Up North" means the Upper Peninsula though. mk just returned from his annual two week trip up there.

Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it. My family used to travel to the Frankfort-Arcadia area on Lake Michigan every summer when I was young, then we started going on fishing trips to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Eventually, my parents bought a place on a lake in Indiana's version of Up North - the lakes region in the northeastern part of the state.
