Well, it's got Spielberg attached which usually means it'll never happen. It's also got Zak Penn writing a draft, which also means it's going into development hell. Kind of like the live-action Akira, this is a fast-buck makework project for a studio so they can look like they're busy without actually having to risk a hundred million dollars on a book that everyone will have forgotten by 2016. Snow Crash has been "in development" for 20 years, and Neuromancer for 30.
