- Details were scant, but the elegant aesthetics looked promising: a circular face, a rotating bezel for controlling it, and—given the 3G connectivity in last year’s Gear S—possibly the ability to use it for voice calls and texts without being tethered to a phone.
Honestly I'm curious to see if I can send texts and make calls without the phone. I think that really adds something to the whole smart watch game.
I can already send texts from my smartwatch, and I already carry my phone with me everywhere. Watches are for notifications and such, and are horrible interactive platforms. Leave the phone for calling and texting, and the watches for 5 button press interactions.
