I went to a viewing of the 48 hour film project a few years ago, I had a friend that had entered his movie titled "Skill Crane". As I recall, there are several things that you must incorporate in to the film. Do you know what the criteria for this year was?
I enjoyed Bump, it's really good especially considering they have 48 hours to film/edit/write.

http://www.48hourfilm.com/asheville/ press release from this years event . I know of the 48 hours to make requirement. However I am not aware of any additional requirements ...this may differ from rules in the past. The directors entering may also be given a more detailed set of regulations, not sure. Your right however to film/edit/write in a 48 hour time frame is what makes this event unique.

I recall that they had to include a "book", a certain "character name" and use a certain "word or phrase" in the movie. I think this was to ensure that it hadn't all been filmed prior. -That's my recollection of the year that I went.
It's a really cool project/contest. Great link, good to see a fellow Carolinian on Hubski!

Saw a few links about the meet-up . Seems the carolina presence is strong from the start. Lots of quality post on hubski so far! I am crossing my fingers in hopes of it staying this way.

I have seen some of the films that come out of the 48 hour film project and in comparison to them, this one might as well be Gone With the Wind. Nice work, it was not only well told, but it was actually compelling and decently acted.
