it has its own kind of broken strength I can think of a few uses for it.
apocalyptic / steampunkish text for a video game or movie credits.

I think that is is draw for me at least. The clumsy unintentional qualities that a designer would not include, the thickness of the middle collumn of the lower case m the tapered edges of the tilde.
I also like how it looks aged like it was printed with overused worn out steel type.
also the unintentional nature makes it less fussy than a lot of intentional fonts. it is certainly not the most annoying font. every font has its uses. http://www.hubski.com/pub?id=27706

Comic sans has clubs and forums dedicated to hating it.

Comic sans hate has always seemed like a profound waste of time to me. Appreciating great typography and critiquing bad typography are worthwhile, but Comic sans has been bashed into the ground so many times that hating it out loud is beyond cliche. Comic sans hate is essentially a bad meme.
