We can't say for sure how this will scale, but we've certainly put a lot of thought from day 1 about how we can ensure that Hubski with 5000 users isn't dramatically different than Hubski with 500,000. In theory, you should still be able to have the same experience but perhaps with some more "comments" in your posts and the posts you visit.

Insom's insight in to her twitter experience as compared to Da XperincE Ov sUm Utter uzeRs, is a good one.... though I think the HR department may take issue with some verbiage.

ecib's assertion that everyone probably has a core topic or two that they are interested in is a good one. I am fond of saying that people don't interact with topics, they interact with people but that's not entirely true. When we get to know somebody initially, we almost always do so through a topic -sports, work, book club etc. Then, we get to know that person better and a broader spectrum of topics emerge. That's how I see Hubski. If I were a new user, I would likely start off following a few tags that interest me and then begin to recognize users that frequent those tags.

I know that as Hubski evolves the discovery and suggestions will evolve too and become far more helpful. It's early yet. I am very excited to see how this scales, hopefully we'll get that chance. We are growing due to word of mouth and we appreciate it. Spread the love, the more the better imo! That said, thanks for posting this metafive and welcome to Hubski!
