Not at all, good friend. Thanks for the concern. Just, sadly, without time to hubski.

Been enjoying some mighty fine Star Trek: TNG episodes though.

Glad you're not "minced meat" caio. Star Trek eh? I'd say that's a worthy pastime, can't fault you there. Since you've been gone I've had to go to 3 quarks daily to get my tangential caio fix :)

By the way, when I read TNG I thought it was a "the new green" reference. -Nobody ever accused me of humility. I quickly realized it's a "the next generation". -Enjoy it!

We just ordered season 1 of Game of Thrones. I'm pretty excited.

May I ask if you watch those with your wife? I've been trying to think of a good series me and my girlfriend, who's not into SF/F, could watch.

Of course you can ask. I will be watching them with her. We still haven't received the first video so I have no idea whether she will like it or not.

We watch a lot of series together and she sometimes likes SF/F and sometimes doesn't. Here are some of the great series we've both enjoyed in no particular order and not relegated to SF/F

  1. Rome -too short lived, wish it had lasted longer
  2. The Tudors -first 2 seasons
  3. Twin Peaks
  4. Firefly - too short lived wish it had lasted longer
  5. Madmen - First 2 seasons
  6. Arrested Development -Funniest show ever made (also too short lived but it's being resurrected)
  7. Jericho -Too short lived wish it had lasted longer
  8. Carnival -Too short lived wish it had lasted longer
  9. John Adams -Miniseries from HBO
  10. Only so I could have ten -Battlestar Galactica (wife didn't watch this one but I think she'd like it).
There you go pal. I bet you've seen a lot of these already. If I were to pick just one to watch, I'd go with Carnival it's weird and wonderful.

I have to admit that I end up finding many series go down hill after the second season.

If you two watch twin peaks together, make a special event of it. We would watch it with another couple and always have coffee and pie each time. Then at the end we had scotch, chocolate and sometimes cigars -(no reference to the show, just damned fun things to have)

Enjoy!
