What more can be added to the debate over U.S. interrogation methods, and whether waterboarding is torture? Try firsthand experience. The author undergoes the controversial drowning technique, at the hands of men who once trained American soldiers to resist—not inflict—it.

Classic piece by Hitchens. I wonder who the group that administered it was? I could foresee a shady sort of "militia circus" going town to town and charging citizens money to see how long they could withstand water boarding.
Have you ever been in a sports bar and they have the video-game punching bag that shows you how hard you can hit? There's always a line of meatheads ready to one-up each other. These are the types that I could see signing up for such a thing voluntarily.

I was tasered once at a trade show (I volunteered) to show how tasers are temporary force (the phrase of the day back then). The theory is/was that tasering someone is better than shooting them or apply other debilitating force such as a baton strike to the knee.

The point was that a 100lb woman could take down a 200lb plus guy.
The problem is, of course, that if you let the guy get to close or come at you too quickly, non-lethal is worthless. Plus, I was able to have a mouthguard so I knew I wouldn't hurt my teeth and they had a big pad to fall on. It was very interesting. -XC

Yeah, I'd definitely pay to see that. Did the misses witness?
