Ah seriously, we're so close!! That's so unlucky! Well if you're looking for a place to stay, I've had a lovely stay at Nonni Guesthouse for very cheap. It's just a couple blocks outside the old (walled) city, right next to a fresh food market, and on Saturday evenings there's a really cool walking market. Also it's not in the main touristy area (on the east side), which is nice.
