For awhile now there has been a cult taking over reddit completely destroying the site from the inside out. If hubski gets bigger it might have a similar fate. This is basically why I stopped using reddit.
Are we making fun of the video ? Last time I made fun of a blog really bad it turned out the person who shared it was friends with the blogs creator. It got awkward... But this is hilariously bad. Reddit has a different system that causes it's weird hivemind issues, that doesn't happen here because people who crave being liked don't get fake points. The issue isn't with radical feminists or sjws it's just cool to whine about them there which results in points. If somebody craves being liked that will make them happy. Reddit is still useful for connecting with people who share hobbies. Knitting and flexibility are great for new stuff.
Plus, it's hard to just stick to talking points when you're expected to hold a real conversation. Posting on Hubski takes effort, because people on here expect quality discussions. If you can't at least halfway support the statements you're gonna make, you're gonna have a bad time.Reddit has a different system that causes it's weird hivemind issues, that doesn't happen here because people who crave being liked don't get fake points.
Yeah. I remember when I discovered this place, I lurked around for about two or three weeks before making an account. Less than 48 hours after I registered from this site, we had a ton of people come in from Reddit due to the Fat People Hate/Ellen Pao fiasco that happened. I thought "Oh no! This place is gonna be overrun!" Not a lot of people stuck around from that, but fortunately the ones that did were pretty awesome. Looking back, I joined at a good time.
My first interaction with Hubski was right as the CircleBroke/SRS/Laurelai were discovering this place. I Noped-the-fuck-off the internet for about a year, then came back to Hubski and they were all gone. The great thing about this place is that the drama-tards have a very tough task in front of them if they want to stink the joint up. Other than an astronomy forum or two full of old people this is the only place I hang out online any more.
When I was looking at different sites I came across an article that basically said voat was for people who left reddit because of no more fat people hate and hubski was for well not those people. Maybe that article helps direct people away from this site as much as it helps direct people too it.
