That as well, I find the posts here don't have as many comments but they're quality. Has hubski ever had mass amounts of people signing up because of a mention on sites like Reddit who don't really get that though ?

Yeah. I remember when I discovered this place, I lurked around for about two or three weeks before making an account. Less than 48 hours after I registered from this site, we had a ton of people come in from Reddit due to the Fat People Hate/Ellen Pao fiasco that happened. I thought "Oh no! This place is gonna be overrun!" Not a lot of people stuck around from that, but fortunately the ones that did were pretty awesome. Looking back, I joined at a good time.

My first interaction with Hubski was right as the CircleBroke/SRS/Laurelai were discovering this place. I Noped-the-fuck-off the internet for about a year, then came back to Hubski and they were all gone. The great thing about this place is that the drama-tards have a very tough task in front of them if they want to stink the joint up. Other than an astronomy forum or two full of old people this is the only place I hang out online any more.

Used to happen every time there was reddit drama, but I think they mostly go straight to Voat now.

When I was looking at different sites I came across an article that basically said voat was for people who left reddit because of no more fat people hate and hubski was for well not those people. Maybe that article helps direct people away from this site as much as it helps direct people too it.
