Downsize the government! ....except that part of it that gives me money.
I always loved hearing Michelle Bachmann talk about how the government needs to be smaller and have less reach. Her and her husband have run a christian counseling organization for years. Their clinic received "nearly $30,000 from Minnesota government agencies between 2006 and 2010 in addition to at least $137,000 in federal payments and $24,000 in government grants for counselor training" -from wikipedia. Great image in the article. Guess he's what happened to the baby in the album art for Nirvana's Nevermind

Yeah, you and I probably disagree on some subsidy/welfare stuff since I'm a libertarian, but I will definitely say the Republican hypocrisy is rampant throughout the party even today. We probably both agree this could have been handled better than via a sort of corporate welfare to the banks though, right?

We may not disagree as much as you'd think. I was only citing the Bachmann's as an example of a systemic problem that I think is prevalent on both sides of the aisle. One claims to disdain government but still drinks from it's teat, the other claims to want less corporate interference in politics yet they cozy right up to CEO's when their hands are outstretched for donations. Really both sides are pretty similar. Shades of grey, leaving us the illusion of choice. Brilliant.
