- A day after de facto Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said "there's nothing to learn" from making his tax returns public before this November's elections, the billionaire is taking heat from the party's 2012 nominee over that stance.
"It is disqualifying for a modern-day presidential nominee to refuse to release tax returns to the voters," said Mitt Romney in a post on Facebook.
Please, please let Mitt Run as the GOP candidate. It would assure a DEM victory and it would mitigate risk. He would be far better than anyone the GOP put forth this cycle.
I feel like this is all that the anti-Trump birgade has left to try and knock him down. I would rather they look into why people support trump and stop trying to throw every name in the book at him (hint: It isn't working). I seems to me that the ones who support trump are the middle class blue collar workers that the republicans have been taking for granted. They have finally wised up the the whole trade deal bullshit that sped up the export of their jobs. We also need to remember republicans like to say that this country needs to be run like a business, and now they get all butthurt when a business man take up the call before he has been molded to fit the party. I don't like trump but not going after his actual positions is a complete waste of time.
I hear you, but when people say they want a "business man," it may be helpful to know how successful, or what type of business man we are talking about. Clearly there is something damming there. This is a guy that is all about being bigger and better than anyone, he even made reference to the size of his dick in a debate. There's no doubt that people like that he is not beholden to anyone and can say whatever he wants. Perhaps there is evidence to the contrary in the returns. Who knows? He does and he's scared to release them. I agree that the Republican Party needs to look at the "why" behind trumps rise but the dems should be hammering him for his returns. They can't though. Why? Cause he can say I'll release them when Hillary releases the transcripts of her Goldman Sachs speeches. This is why Bernie is so much better positioned to beat Trump. Nothing to hide.
He claims that because of the audit he cannot release his returns, yes. But he could release previous years, that wouldn't affect his audit. In fact, it's highly unlikely that releasing them would have any substantial effect. I mean, what' more important to him? The presidency or this audit?
