Post anything you want, pictures, songs, videos, even just a happy thought or two.
My workflow: 1) Crop to rule of thirds 2) Auto-adjust 3) (boost saturation because I'm a little colorblind and tend to go crazy) 4) tweak highlights and shadows to improve them but not to the point of clipping 5) white balance OPTIONAL: HDR (gotta be careful, it gets dumb) OPTIONAL: shitty instagram filters (I'm prone to "glamour glow")
Because I am a glutton for, if not punishment at least for Sisyphean tasks, I am going to set up tonight and let 400+ people take pictures of the moon with their cell phones help up against the eyepiece of my telescopes. This is probably the last "spontaneous" outreach event I take part in this year, with four more scheduled events that the club gets paid for, a Christmas party and then done till March. I have the time off work that I am going to spend the one clear freezing cold night in February out somewhere dark, and am looking forward to that.
I got out of bed, and my wife climbed into my warm spot. She's napping now. I can hear her light breathing, as I sit here ordering a new windshield for my motorcycle, and planning on what I shall make her for breakfast. I am so blissfully happy right now, I may explode...
My wife had a conference to run yesterday so my kid got dropped off at daycare an hour and a half early. She was in her PJs to make things easier. I was feeling lonely so I asked the daycare lady to take some pictures of my daughter and send them to me. My daughter wore her PJs all day. Her favorite game is Journey. Her greatest aspiration is to be a scuba diver. She's gonna love the shit out of her birthday.
Woke up well-rested, studied all day - I'm starting to feel confident about the exam I have on Monday. It's also been raining outside, I love the sound of rain when I need to think. Tomorrow's my birthday. My grandpa's brother who emigrated to Canada sent me an email today with best wishes.
On today's session I will GM the final arc of my campaign. Seems to progress well so far, despite the fact I made it as open-ended as I could, they still managed to engage in some unpredictable shenanigans that made me seriously reconsider bits of the campaign. Basically, players are members of Roman legion sent to scout ahead. There they found out about local rulers uniting to thwart the nearing army and seem to have enough people and wits to actually pull that off. Not on my players watch! They went full guerrilla on them, got some intel on various small rulers, their connections etc. They attacked one border territory between two rulers, made it look like a third party (unsurprisingly they chosen the guy who was most vocal about union) and afterwards started stirring the pot more and more. Basically, imagine CIA involvement in Roman conquest and it will be pretty close to what occurred in the span of last few sessions. Last session they got uncovered! That means that the last arc is going to be a break-neck escape from barbarians who instead of getting their shit together to oppose legion spent few precious weeks at each other's throats. It was pretty damn epic and I hope that this daring escape is going to be as fun as their previous adventures. I don't know about you guys, but that makes me grin so hard that I'm afraid that anything more and the top of my head will fall off. :D
I'm sitting in my car working up the motivation to run. In the minute I've been here, five people have run past. Ok, sure, it's a popular area with a small private college nearby, but it's great seeing people so active. Definitely makes me smile. Of the runners I see on the 10k loop I'm going to do, most of them will wave.
Leonard Cohen isn't well, but he is still writing and singing deep, thoughtful, moving songs for us. These songs are making me happy this morning.
Careful now. It starts with some fox buttons here, some antique looking brass buttons there, some genuine glass buttons after, and next thing you know, you've got yourself a button collection and the beginning of a hoard of craft supplies that takes up your whole apartment and two storage units. :)
