I'm still in the honeymoon phase where I'm really proud that my team was actually able to assemble a cohesive film together, especially because none of us have done one before. It was also incredibly stressful and frustrating.
The restrictions were:
- No cellphones in any shots
- Use voice narration
- Egg
The things I learned were:
- Invest in a mic / film in quieter spaces
- Make sure you still have time to balance the audio
- If your big idea is to fit a bunch of smaller ideas and make it seem like you fucked up a lot of small ideas, it's gonna be really hard to execute anything.
- I have this scanner / curator kind of mind that loves trying to piece meaning out of noise, I haven't had this much fun on a project in a long time. I'm pretty sure that this is the type of editor that people don't want to work with, I'm just glad my final edit came out alright.
- My body can't stay up all night anymore. Fuck being 25.
It's easier said than done. Good work having this out together and only in 24 hours. That would be rough. I had a friend to a 48 hour project a few years back.
