Lawfare has been a bookmark of mine for some time. The case seems strong enough that Manafort's lawyer was forced to testify before the grand jury under the crime-fraud exception to solicitor-client privilege. PDF Judicial Opinion I suspect this is just the first salvo against Manafort. More interesting to me is the Papadopolous Agreed Statement of Facts. It shows that Mueller has several unnamed senior campaign people's balls in a vise. It reads very similar to what I could imagine being the text of further Indictments against Don Jr., Kushner and Manafort just for the meeting they lied about.
Linking to the piece you referenced. Thank ya, hadn't read that one.
For sure. I think Ivanka gets a free pass because of sexism, that's all. "She's just a girl" is the implicit assumption when she constantly gets overlooked as a villain. I guess Tiffany will get the last laugh when all her older siblings are in jail, and she stays out because daddy is only proud of her "to a lesser extent."
Remember - it was Tiffany's mom who leaked Trump's tax return... because it was her tax return. Marla and Tiffany have for some reason become Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt in Heartbreakers in my head. You are now aware that Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt once starred in a movie together.
I'm new to Lawfare but read a handful of other legal blogs and bet that I'll be adding it to my weekly diet. Their podcast this week was decent as well. The comment section of Popehat let me to it. The Popehat breakdown was pretty good if you haven't checked it out.
Thanks for introducing me, I think it's one of the least biased sources I've come across in a while.
