Great article, thanks a lot. I'm sure there are some flows somewhere but it got me thinking. "We may question the wisdom of using such drugs as marijuana and cocaine, but the people who use them should be free to make their own decisions. They might make bad decisions, but should people go to prison for making bad decisions that hurt no one but, perhaps, themselves? Both Barack Obama and George W. Bush have admitted using illegal drugs. Would society have been better off if they had spent time in prison?"
Have you guys seen the trailer for The House I Live In? Its a new documentary about the drug war. I haven't seen it yet (I think it was just released yesterday; not sure how wide of a release it is), but the director was on Bill Maher and Jon Stewart recently. It sounds very interesting. Its a topic that isn't talked about in public nearly enough.

Hmmm... I'm guessing there are a lot of people that would say "yes" based solely on partisan lines. It's a valid point though, drug use is in no way an indicator of social worth. It's one of those weird laws that incarcerates someone for self-harm.
