One of the things that Dems could have worked with Trump on was liability for content on social media sites. It's one of the few identifiable policy goals he had, and they probably could have extracted a lot for it. However, they are (a) money slaves like everyone else, and (b) reflexively opposed to anything Trump. The irony of Trump thinking that Twitter suppresses his free speech when that platform pretty much made him relevant notwithstanding, the only real argument against liability is that it will make investors less rich. Who gives a shit?
