"It would be hard to top this group, in terms of absurdity"
What a performance. Jon Stewart is absolutely dominating this, and he's up against two people on their own show.
Tucker will probably run for president. 2028, maybe. If we can't figure out how to diffuse his "I'm a megamillionaire populist!" bullshit before then, he'll likely win. Railing against the demonization of class warfare is likely a good start.
Then he'd have to work for a living. That's not who he is. Tucker Carlson's dad made his bones pursuing the "transvestite" angle against Liz Carmichael, rather than the "libertarian scam artist" angle, probably because Dick Carlson is also a libertarian scam artist. He then did PR for a bank and ran for office in San Diego, where his massive scumbaggery became a liability. Fortunately this did not matter because he had already sucked up to Ed Meese and married up. He was appointed to run Voice of America, appointed to run the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and appointed Ambassador to the Seychelles. Li'l Tucker learned early on that if you do journalism, you're held accountable. If you run for office, you're held accountable. However, if you sit behind a desk and trash liberals, the only way you can face blowback is if someone records you talking about molesting them with a chickpea sandwich. Tucker wouldn't turn down a cabinet position. Run for office? That's something the poors do.
