Probably should be more careful with what i post, but you'll see a lot of posts like this from me! so ask me anything that could be burning your noggin
How do you feel that us Millennials and other older people can best support you, your generation and people like you? By and large I like to think that my cohort has a strong protective instinct toward todays youth, particularly those being singled out for persecution. And I also acknowledge there's a difference between feeling that feeling and living it out as practice. I've recently gained the ability to buy very basic 3d printers on the cheap, I was considering putting together some kits and dropping them off at a local high school along with links that demonstrate how to make filament out of recycled pop bottles. Would anyone care to use them? As one example.
So currently, I'm really glad there's people at all who support and understand that being trans or being in the lgbtqia is not a choice. As for how they can help? In my personal opinion, treat us like human beings, we're just people like you, we just want the support we need. may i ask what you mean by kits? the context i'm picking up is kits about 3d printing or kits for trans kids. The issue i'm seeing with that is: it all depends on the schools policies, which youths it's targeted for, and if it's appropriate to be dropped on school grounds. I say the last bit as there are helpful 3d printed packers for ftm trans kids, but they tend to be considered "inappropriate" due to the shape.
Yeah that wasn't at all what I meant lol, my apologies for being unclear. Yeah, 3d printing kits, a printer, few other necessary odds and ends. Yeah that's my concern too. I'm going to see if I can get the email addresses of some local physics/computer class/ shop teachers and see if I could just put them directly into the hands of a student club or something.I say the last bit as there are helpful 3d printed packers for ftm trans kids, but they tend to be considered "inappropriate" due to the shape.

So all I could say is ask what would make them comfortable to do. Try using their preferred name and pronouns. What I DON'T recommend is to use said options around other people unless your friend says they're aware and are comfortable. You don't want to out your friend to strangers, It'll probably make them uncomfortable. but remember to discuss these boundaries with your friend. I'll always be here for other help if needed
What perfect timing! I'm just having an argument right now with one of my friends about whether GenZ cares about 9/11 and the great recession, or if there's newer & trendier issues now. So, uh, do ya? :p
So growing up, I did care about 9/11 because my mother was nearby when it happened, but it's not so important to me. As for the recession I was 3-4 at the time, with a new baby sister being born, so at the time my focus was keeping away from said child and play with squinkies- As of now I wasn't even aware that existed,So it's still been out of my mind until now. Make it simple: The topics are not of interest to me so long as it doesn't affect me. The new issue that we tend to focus on more is how our country and world is falling apart due to a lack of understanding. We also are more focused on the fact everyday, little by little, our rights are being taken away all because old farts in diapers decided to take away the basic right to our own body choices. LGBTQIA+ rights and poc rights are also in danger, as more are also trying to take away our right to marriage, healthcare, and just our choices in life in general. History is repeating itself and we have no power over it besides doing what we can.
Worried (as a ftm): Currently it's "what the hell am I going to do after high school" or "am I actually good enough to do anything after high school?" But the harsh reality is: It all boils down to if I'll ever save up enough money for the surgeries and medical things I want/need (top surgery, bottom surgery, testosterone, therapy, ect.) and with inflation and just the world going to shit within a blink of an eye, it's hard to do such things. Hopeful: I'm pretty hopeful to leave my current living situation and hopefully live with either my friends or my partners (Poly tft relationship). I also am hoping to accomplish what I need to do with minimal drawbacks/problems. Looking forward to: What I'm actually most looking forward to is Wednesdays, I host a D&D club after school every Wednesday and so far everyone is happy with my campaign Dreading: I'm dreadful about a lot of things- many are that "I'll never amount to anything that people want me to be, I'll never be seen as a man or what people will actually see me as". The big picture is: Most teens (not all) with similar issues as me, are really struggling to just exist, so give us a little bit of sympathy- we're doing the best we can πππππ trying to appease the cis gender-norm of today (which is the most cruel today). It's hard being a trans kid, it's even harder today to not become a statistic. All I ask is for you and others to do is to read this with a grain of salt, I'm one out of many of us. I hope you all have a good day and hope you all learned a little more about my lil brain. Have a good day/night and make sure to care for yourself <3
Honestly??? Just don't have sausage or fish and im a-okay with anything. (not medical or religious reasons. just really hate sausage and fish)
Thanks for sharing! I'm not sure how you found this website but it's a pretty small and welcoming community. We've got a few other trans users on here as well. So if you're worried about posting something like this, I just want to reassure you that you're pretty safe here. So I'll ask you this: How'd you find Hubski and what made you decide to join and participate with us?
As mentioned in my last post, I broke my phone, my laptop (a school laptop with high restrictions) is my only source of entertainment and communication. I found Hubski when I was looking for interesting websites/games to play. Realizing it has a similar layout to Reddit (minus the toxicity) and interesting stories to read, I decided to get familiar with it better. I ended up joining because a recent post asked what music has been a big interest to people recently so i wanted to participate. To put a long statement short: I was bored and found this place by a random search :)
I had known about Hubski for a little while and decided to join to participate in one of those threads too! Glad you're here and I hope you stick around :)
