Someone's gotta do it...
We haven't had one of these in weeks! At work so I can't find a good #bootlegpubski picture so if y'all can, decorate with your own #bootlegpubski picture! My last bootlegpubski post had illegal liquor from the illegal distilling reddit page. Had a great time getting together with kleinbl00 this past weekend. Got some good food, better liquor, and the best time. His new workshop is going to be absolutely incredible and I can't wait for the finished product tour we all deserve. Check out rezzeJ's weekly music post for kb's music recommended I am currently listening to as I post this. We also got to talk about emergency management and the fact that there will in fact be more pandemics in the future. Otherwise the job has been what the job has been recently. Have to work Saturday, but my shitty boss won't let me flex the following week, so I really only have a 1 day weekend which is bullshit. Hopa y'all are well!
One day! If you're ever around for business too you should definitely stop by. I don't have anything coming up by you anytime soon unfortunately but hopefully that will change!
Partner finally caught covid (or, first time she's had symptoms and tested positive). Been playing nurse for the last week as it hit her pretty hard, but I seem to have avoided it. Plonk her by the fire, ply her with soup and meds. She's back at the office tomorrow, we think. I'll have been in my 'new' job for a year come August. Quite surreal to think about, and I'm still reaping the benefits of the minimised stress. Amazing what you'll adapt to without realising, and I absolutely adapted to a shitty environment at the time. The new job has afforded me so much more time to put towards hobbies. I write a lot more, I maintain the garden better, I'm more sociable. I'm just way happier. Very grateful towards the people who nudged me in the new direction. We got snow yesterday and everything froze over today, so I'm WFH this morning and getting the fire going. Cat is purring, partner is stirring. All's well.
Two days of work remain before I take two weeks off to visit the Whitsundays, followed by Uluru. The partner and I need a break.
