... wait.... a machine can look at my retina and tell me if I'm getting laid tonight? (sorry... I'll see myself out.)
I've read this a few times and tried to form an intelligent response... and all I can come up with is... grace and courtesy - I wish he had some. For example: Yah.. on the contrary, he let trans folks know on Day 1 that his government (their new government) will no longer recognize them. Sure - I can understand the biological sports argument - but there's a way to make something happen with some level of compassion and understanding... not like this. There's a way to bring people to the table and get things done that doesn't involve insult, slander, hate, and threats of violence. I'm not suggesting that everyone in a conversation needs to be comfortable... but leading with a jab isn't the best way to start a conversation or negotiation. And that's what this is... it's one big corporate negotiation to the Orangutan-in-Chief. Jab/insult/demean/hate first - think second. Even if I agreed 100% with what he and his crew are doing (which I don't), I vehemently disagree with the way they're doing it. One may say "but the ends justify the means" and I would argue that they don't always, and the country left in the wake of his presidency will be the real testament.I do think a better leader would have done this with additional language reassuring the Transsexual community that their dignity and right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness remains
I can appreciate this article... but the only "How We Fix It" I saw was: buy organic, be thoughtful about ingredients, and good luck. Nowhere did I see how to get involved, where/how to politically organize. Is it that hopeless? is it really me vs. Big Food? That's a tough battle to fight my friend...
I don’t think I knew you were in Norway. mike is in Viking country too. I was just there for a visit in the fall… albeit not that far north. 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴
can I ask the n00b question of the day? Since it's open source, theoretically people have verified the codebase... has anyone ensure it's not like... scanning my system for passwords, crypto private keys, etc and shipping that off somewhere? (US govt, China, someone else?) Sorry to sound paranoid or whatever - just a question from a dude who doesn't know better
heck yes you are. that's a solid tune.
- I'm 80 applications deep into my current job search.. 2 interviews for one role... got the rejection last week. otherwise radio silence. - The house we spent 10 years in raising our little kids is back on the market. Lots of nostalgia. (we sold it 7 years ago). - Friend at the FBI is worried about her job. - I'm stuck on a project... trying to push past the block. . and yet... the sun will rise. I will triumph.
eh.... sorry for missing this for like... 273 days...
so much to unpack here! I understand the urge to have a weekend away with the wife... if ever you find yourself here again, let me know. I am curious about this.I was in Denver for a couple nights for New Year's Eve
I think I am going to be switching many p2p convos to Signal, unless someone recommends another service.
it's sad really... that I want this... some day I'll grow up.
How did the division Christmas party go?
I love this
one of my favorite "sandwiches" in Denver was a latke reuben.... I put sandwich in parenthesis because you were eating it with a knife and fork...
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah y'all
it's weird isn't it? I heard a comedy bit the other day talking about preppers and how they're just waiting for the world to end - but then a pandemic hit and they were like "psshhh... that ain't real" There are pockets of sensible people in the e-prep world, but more often not, the first things that people store are bullets.Too much cop energy whole way through.
