A third reason: Ignored people might still have productive discussions underneath someone who doesn't want to hear it, and it could be beneficial of they were still allowed to post, and it was still visible to others who are browsing the thread. Exactly! Why?? I've been wondering for years but I'm afraid he is firmly set in his ways.
