The 34-year-old chip architect is genuinely taken aback that demand for the Raspberry Pi proved to be orders of magnitude larger than a small pool of aspiring UK computer engineers.
"We honestly did think we would sell about 1,000, maybe 10,000 in our wildest dreams. We thought we would make a small number and give them out to people who might want to come and read computer science at Cambridge," he told ZDNet.
It's getting a bit old, yeah. I remember the first wave back when it came out, now it's getting worse.
It is a really great little gizmo! I bought one as soon as it was available. I don't know if they're still having supply problems, but they where when I ordered. I initially tried to order from Farnell, but after receiving no word for 10+ months, I canceled my order with them and ordered from element14. It showed up a week later :)
Element14 seems to have them: http://www.element14.com/community/groups/raspberry-pi
