It looks like the beer starts returning right at the year of my birth. Apparently, the industry saw me coming.
It has to do with brewery deregulation in 1979, during the Carter administration. Between the cheaper flights thanks to airline deregulation and Billy Beer setting a new low mark, we got a lot of good things from those years of stagflation. Just think: European breweries look to us. Michael Jackson, the late English writer, not the late musical sensation from Indiana, even said to look to America. We are in a golden age for beer innovation.
