Oliver saying he's not a journalist reminds me of Alan Watts saying he's not a guru but a 'Spiritual Entertainer'. I would wager that the research done by the Oliver staff is better than most of the research done by people who would eagerly accept the title 'Journalist'. I think rejecting the title is more about actually getting people to listen than downgrading his shows coverage of important issues.
Well, without doing an in depth analysis; it was the feeling and his voice. Tom's voice sounds(to me) extremely similar to the lead singer of SOAD. The songs that came to mind were Violent Pornography and Aerials(Life is a waterfall one in the river and one again after the fall). Also I feel that they are similar in the sort of subversive and comedic way that real flaws in the society of the time are addressed in each song. That's all just post-justification of my opinion though. The truth is that when I listen to this music it gives me the same feeling as when I listen to SOAD.
I was co-author on a conference abstract once for a paper in which the first author did the least work on it but it was okay for my ego because I was presenting
Very similar to System of a Down
You should get co-authorship
Talking about this is probably a mention, what's not clear is whether it's 271 messages or 271 users.
Ahhh, I see. I still disagree but I see.
I felt like Spengler's theory was basically the practice of saying something true and then saying something else right afterward and pointing to the first thing as evidence that the second thing must be true. Yeah, there's a solid prediction of the progression of Western civilization but I don't see any evidence that different civilizations can be taken as wholly independent.
I've been listening to Die Antwoord; I don't go in for hip hop much but they caught my attention.
