Coincidentally, I am reading Thomas Meyer's modern translation at this very moment. These two may be of similar caliber.

A bit off topic, but I hadn't heard of Punctum Books until now and I really like their publishing model. And based on the excerpt below, I'm really going to enjoy reading Meyer's translation.

Here's an excerpt:

The eyes of Hygelac’s kin watched the wicked raider

execute his quick attack:

without delay,

snatching his first chance,

a sleeping warrior,

he tore him in two,

chomped muscle, sucked veins’

gushing blood,

gulped down his morsel, the dead man,

chunk by chunk,

hands, feet & all.

& then

never before had

sinherd feared anything so.

I absolutely cannot wait to compare Tolkien's translation to the two or three most prominent existing. Actually someone will probably do it for me.

Well, cheers to the future student!

In all seriousness, various specialized linguistics students approaching their dissertations are probably frothing.
