A Louvin Brothers classic.
Spending the evening poking through my music collection, figured someone here would dig this. Maybe ecib, humanodon or thenewgreen.
cgod, so I guess Charlie Louvin went on to have a career singing solo after his troubled brother died. I was never really too familiar with him, but I guess there was a pause for a bit from the mid nineties until 2007 when he released this song on a pretty good album: http://grooveshark.com/s/Ira/2q24sn?src=5 Came across it this weekend, looked it up and found out it was the same Louvin of Louvin brothers fame. Didn't realize that he was singing about his brother until wiki refreshed my memory. A sentimental pretty song. humanodon and thenewgreen, you guys may like this as well.
So good. Also, from wiki:Their songs were heavily influenced by their Baptist faith and warned against sin.[citation needed] Nevertheless, Ira Louvin was notorious for his drinking, womanizing, and volcanic temper.[2] He was married four times; his third wife Faye shot him four times in the chest and twice in the hand after he allegedly tried to strangle her with a telephone cord [3] Although seriously injured, he survived. (Faye is reported to have said, "if the bastard don't die I'll shoot him again!"). When performing and drinking, Ira would sometimes become angry enough on stage to smash his mandolin when he was unable to tune it—and when sober glue it back together.
