I actually made this a while back but forgot about it because I was too lazy to upload it. I finally got around to it now, so here it is.
It's a unserious little chillout style jam but It loses its conviction/direction around the half way mark and drags on a bit, but it was fun to do nonetheless. It was the first time I've tried an on the fly, looped composition like this with my set-up.
What is the keyboard in the foreground? How do you like it?
It's just an reasonably old midi keyboard, I wouldn't be able to tell you the make/model now as I'm at the parent's. My friend got it for free from his Dad's friend and in turn passed it on to me when he got a new one. It serves its function quite swimmingly. If you really want to play some proper keys you might want to opt for one with a few more octaves. However, as a nice little controller for when I'm jamming or messing with a synth it is perfect. A lovely little freebie.
cool stuff. Always interesting to see how people interact with something you create.
very cool stuff, what kind of drumpad is that? i've been thinking about investing in one and it looks pretty good.
Thanks! The pad is Maschine Mikro and is produced by Native Intstruments. It comes with its own digital audio workstation for you to create music and load virtual synths into. It's actually a pretty respectable environment for something that comes packaged. It works seamlessly with the controller. It can of course work with other software packages too. The drum samples I was triggering in that video were coming from a plugin called 'Addictive Drums' by XLN Audio. You can also trigger anything you want from it. It doesn't have to be drums and percussion, I could of played the keyboard parts on it if I wanted. They're a really cool little piece of kit which I'd recommend. There's a version 2 out now and also it has a bigger brother called simply 'Maschine'.
very nice, thanks for the in depth explanation!
