Esther Ekhart teaches you fundamental asanas that will help you establish a practical Yoga routine for your long-term mental and physical benefit and happiness
Have you been taking these yoga classes? What is it you enjoy about Esther Ekhart's approach? I know that there are a number of yoga enthusiasts on the site that may be interested in more detail prior to embarking down a new yoga class.
Whaaat where are these yoga enthusiasts I haven't stumbled upon in all this time?! I tried these guides while my neck, back and shoulders were snapped up from wrestling, and it was a great stretch but didn't work wonders. When I visited a great (but surprisingly cheap) nearby studio, personal guidance and corrections and the group environment really put things in place for me. I would've gotten my handstands in ages ago if it wasn't for injuries that are supposed to be typical of 60-year-olds.
I know that cW is an avid yoga enthusiast, for starters.
I do more advanced classes now, but I have done these classes. Ekhart, for me, has a very sensible approach. In her beginner classes the basic asanas(poses) gives the practitioner a great base to build off of. These poses, Sukhasana(easy pose), Tadasana(mountain pose), Adho Mukha Savasana(downward dog), Balasana(child pose), Bhujangasana(cobra pose), Ardha Matsyendrasana(half lord of the fishes pose), are modified in numerous ways to make the hundreds upon hundreds of variations across many schools and their asanas. Her instructions are very in-depth, she has great advice on breath control, how parts of the body should feel during practice, and many of these tips are fundamental in learning yoga way beyond a beginner setting. In short, if you've never tried yoga and want to try, this is the place to start, where you go is up to you :) Namaste
