This is a reply to goldbludgeon's post "What song makes you weep every time you hear it?".
Lately whenever I'm in a bad mood and just want to listen to something uplifting, it's been Kishi Bashi. One of my favorite artists, his arrangements are incredible and everything he's written is positive and fun to listen to. What songs make you feel that way?
You know, Mr. Rogers wrote all of the music for that show? He was apparently a heck of a jazz pianist. related:
Yeah, he's a big influence in my life. I watched a LOT of his show as a boy.
I watched Him and Mr. Dressup, a Canadian show.
That music video is something. What that something is, I'm not quite sure. Still have the mix CD mk made when we did that...had never heard of the Revolting Cocks prior to listening to that disc.
Tenacious D is hilarious. I like them because Jack Black and Kyle Gass are actually talented musicians just screwing around making funny music. I'm partial to Lee for favorite/funniest song of theirs. Fun fact, The D was a huge influence for The Soups which was an April Fool's release that my roommate and I put together this year.
From "another network" a song named Marie by a local artist to that network.
Brooke Fraser - Something In The Water and Avalanche City - Love love love
Heard this song on the radio this morning and thought it would be a good addition to this thread.
CCR - Looking out my back door
Just got home from Illinois locked the front door oh boy!
Got to sit down take a rest on the porch
Imagination sets in pretty soon I'm singin'
Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door
There's a giant doing cartwheels a statue wearin' high heels
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn
A dinosaur Victrola list'ning to Buck Owens
Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door
Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo
Wond'rous apparition provided by magician
Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door
Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrow
Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door
Forward troubles Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrow
Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door
It makes me smile, and also reminds me of my Dad, who introduced me to Stan.
Lighght and 151a are two of my favorite albums from the past few years. K is an all-around good guy, never would have guessed he's as old as he is though. Saw him for the first time in June and I'll be seeing him again in a little over three weeks! I like that Cab Calloway song by the way.
Two reasons. It's catchy as hell and it reminds me of American Psycho.
I haven't listened to nearly as much Bjork as I should. That was a really good song, sounds like something I'd want to play (and might play) at a party.
This game makes me giggle. OK Mister Sunshine!
I like Katamari On The Rocks better. Nanaaaaaaaananananananaaaanana KATAMARRII DAMAACYY.
