I've developed what may be a habit of seeing dead animals where there aren't dead animals. I feel like Rorschach a little bit.

When I was 22, my parents took our family on a trip to Glacier National Park. We were adamant that we were going to see a grizzly bear or a black bear on our trip... any bear would do. By the end of the trip, we were pretty sick of looking because we were constantly disappointed, "look over there... oh, it's just a boulder." We were also just very sick of being around one another.

On our drive back to Missoula MT, all squished in to a mini van my dad passed what he thought was a bear on the side of the road. He stopped and turned the car around and we all looked out the window in eager anticipation. Lying there, on the side of the road, long since dead was a medium sized black dog. My sister began to cry, we were all annoyed/disturbed.

But yeah, it's also easy to see live animals where there are only dead ones.

To be clear, I am horrified by the dead animals I perceive to see, so at least it's not real Rorschach. It happened twice this weekend. Which isn't really enough to mean anything, right?

Uh, well... uh...

Hopefully it's not a Man in the High Castle sitch where you're the one actually perceiving reality (or the future?). I don't want reality to be dead animals.
