For me, my saved posts are divided into two categories: those from <1mo ago, which I probably just saved so that I could read them later as I would read any post, and those older ones which I like to come back to over and over again. Since the first part isn't really interesting, here are some of my older saved posts/comments:
- 8bit's fantastic comment on the rationality of muting (If you happen to be reading this, miss you lots, man. Hope you'll come back soon.)
- humanodon's Hunkar Begendi recipe, which I've convinced myself I'll make someday
- my own post about men's fashion, since everyone's comments are awesome reference guides (seriously, thanks guys)
- kleinbl00's comment about reclaiming Thanksgiving, also for future reference
and a few others. So I wanna know, Hubski, what have you saved? What's in your back pocket, and why?
My god, so much great shit. Who killed videogames? The secret law of page harmony bfv, proving he is hella smarter than me b_b's secret skill, which I shall use to great effect someday... someday... cumol teaching you how to do Tabbouleh right veen reminding me how colloquy works I will watch this someday And someday, when I've actually read Harry Potter, I'll read Yudikowsky's take on it
Ah, I'm flattered. Bookbinding is a dying craft, but I hope it never dies entirely. I suspect it won't, because no matter how many books are exclusively released in ebook format, there will always be collectors and artists. Anytime I can offer any tips on the subject, I'd be much humbled to do so.
Good damn question. I can't remember. Let's find out together. 1. The Jean-Paul Sartre Cookbook. Obvious. 2. Feynman Lectures Free Online, for the next time I have a shitty office job with no supervision. 3. Great books, for life. 4. A Super Smash Bros documentary, which I might even be able to watch this weekend. 5. Two brilliant posts on classical music by Owl. A lot of music, thenewgreen's recipe for vegetarian meatballs, kleinbl00 on US intelligence failures and hubski's favorite beers. Neat. I need to click this button more often, or else it's pointless. Do another one of these next year.
Today I tried making [an omelette] out of a cigarette, some coffee, and four tiny stones.
Thank you, thank you for bringing that back to consciousness. I was thinking of making pancakes, but instead an omelette. but first, I'll run out and get cigarettes.
This amazing stream of consciousness "welcome to hubski" post written by mknod I love it. It should be on a sticker or poster. It makes me want to eat pancakes. Now. I have also saved Hubski Logos and Slogans So Far in case someone says something that should be added to the list. A whole lot of other wonderful stuff, including thenewgreen's song that first brought me here. Unfortunately, the song seems to no longer be on the link. Maybe tng will repost it.
It's there for me. Does anyone else not see the song in this post: https://hubski.com/pub?id=2516 ? I should offer up that tune to the Hubski collaborative music project. I could re-record that one. I dig it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane lil.
Odd. It works just fine for me there. How about here: Can you play that?
Poor, neglected little #higgsy, once the bell of the ball, now just a remembrance of particles past.
Out of 54, here are three: This early post wherein alpha0 unwittingly reveals Masonic subterfuge within Hubski. A nice tutorial on Cryptographic Hashes by rk. A recipe for Vegetable Frittata in a Microwave by NotPhil, which oddly is one of our most active referral links, from Buzzfeed of all places.
The fashion post (one day I'll have the spare cash to completely re-do my wardrobe...) and book lists I all had saved, so here's some other stuff: Some info on homebrewing. A great intro to drum n' bass Useful post on music equipment and recording Also, if anybody is looking for something super interesting related to the homebrewing post, check out #beekeeping.briandmyers
I almost never used "save" and most of the things I just encountered there were clearly accidents as a result of my fingers accidentally hitting "save" while hubskiing on my phone. But here are some that were intentional:
Octopus Opening a Jar Searching For Puddles the Clown The Last Crumb Pairings For the Mixed Tape/CD Swap 2004- While My Guitar Gently Weeps: Skip to 3:25, sit back and watch Prince work his magic But the very first post that I ever "saved" was one of lil's writing prompts:
Damn you youtube! I put another link in the comment there for people. And hell... here it is for anyone that stumbles upon this comment. Because it is THAT DAMN GOOD:
